• Referendums give the electorate a chance to vote on a single political question. Referendums can be for an area or for the whole of the country.

• Matterdale Neighbourhood Plan Referendum

• Referendum on the adoption of Matterdale Neighbourhood Plan, for LNPA to use to help decide on the outcome of planning applications was held on 15 October 2015.

• Upper Eden Neighbourhood Plan Referendum

• Referendum on the adoption of Upper Eden Neighbourhood Plan, for EDC to use to help decide on the outcome of planning applications, was held on 7 March 2013.

• Carr House Neighbourhood Development Order Referendum

• Referendum on the type of development in the Carr House Neighbourhood Development Order, to have planning permission, was held on Thursday 22 February 2018.
