Arts and Culture Development Fund

The establishment of the Eden District Council Arts and Culture Development Fund is to support and develop arts and cultural projects within Eden district. The total available is £112,000 for the year for 2022 to 2023.

What is the Arts and Culture Development Fund for?

We will consider applications for funding towards arts and cultural projects, workshops, services or events including, but not limited to, visual arts, literary arts, music, digital arts, performing arts, crafts and arts for health and wellbeing.

To be eligible to apply to the Arts and Culture Development Fund, groups and organisations must have their own constitution (unless a parish or town council) and bank account, with at least two unrelated signatories. Applications must come from constituted groups and not individuals, but if an informally associated group or an individual wishes to apply for an eligible project, they can do so if a constituted organisation acts as an accountable body.

What we fund

• create new arts and cultural projects
• encourage active participation in the arts by a diverse cross-section of the community including young people, older people and underrepresented groups within Eden
• create site specific, outdoor art and cultural activity for local audiences
• develop partnerships between local cultural organisations, networks and groups
• encourage delivery of community-based arts and cultural programmes.

The minimum grant is £500 and the maximum is £10,000. There is a requirement for 20% match funding for all categories, although up to 10% can be in-kind. The Panel may consider applications that exceed £10,000 that are able to demonstrate exceptional impact.

We cannot accept an application unless you have the required number of written quotes and estimates. You must submit two written quotes or estimates for each item of expenditure between £50 and £2,500 and three for each item over £2,500.

For applications with deadline 21 July 2022 - decision made by end August 2022.

For applications with deadline 23 September 2022 - decision made by end October 2022.

For applications with deadline 20 January 2023 - decision made by end February 2023.
