Penrith New Squares
Penrith New Squares is a mixed-use development, consisting of housing, a multi-storey car park, retail, and a hotel on the site. Sainsbury’s designed New Squares to extend Penrith town centre and complement Penrith’s traditional architecture.
Opened in June 2013, the site, anchored by a 55,000 sq ft Sainsbury’s food store, with an adjacent multi-storey car park, allows three hours' free parking for people to shop in the town centre.
The New Squares car park has 106 spaces, plus five blue badge spaces. Public parking is free for three hours during the daytime and early evening, with no return within three hours. Between 10pm and 7am maximum stay is 10
minutes. The parking is managed by a third party who have ANPR technology in place.
Sainsbury’s are responsible for the letting of available units in the New Squares retail development.
