How to pay your business rates
You can pay your Business Rates by instalments, annually, or half-yearly, by direct debit, standing order, online, telephone, or internet or telephone banking. You need your Business Rates reference number before you can pay.
Pay by instalments
You can pay your Business Rates in:
- ten or twelve monthly instalments, payable on the 18th of the month (the number of instalments reduces for bills issued after 1 April),
- annually, or half-yearly.

Pay using internet or telephone banking
To pay using internet or telephone banking you need our bank details, our sort code 01-04-66 and the account number 37973541. Use the reference number shown at the top left on the front of your Business Rates bill.
Pay online
Pay business rates online; enter your Business Rates reference number (8 digits long on the front of your bill); the amount to pay and your debit card details.
Pay by telephone
The telephone payment service is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To pay by telephone you need the Business Rates reference number (8 digits long on the front of your bill), the amount to pay and a debit card.
Write the authorisation number down which we give at the end of the telephone call, in case you need it.
