We are committed to promoting equal opportunities and supporting diversity through:
Single Equality Scheme
The Government is set to produce a Single Equality Bill in the summer 2009. This bill will simplify everything to do with all discrimination and equality laws from the last forty years. Following the publication of this bill we will produce our own Single Equality Scheme. The scheme will cover our Disability Equality Scheme, Gender Equality Scheme and Race Equality Scheme.
Access for All
Access for all looks at our duties under the Disability Discrimination Act. It also shows what we are doing to promote awareness and to support disabled people in our community and the Disability Equality Scheme. For more information see Access for All.
Race Equality
Race Equality Scheme sets out how we will meet the general and specific duties to promote race equality as required by the Race Relations Act 1976 and the Race Relations (Amendment) Act (2000). For more details read the Race Equality Scheme.
Gender Equality
Gender Equality Scheme sets out how we will meet the general and specific duties to promote gender equality as required by the Equality Act 2006. For more details read the Gender Equality Scheme.
Migrant Workers
Eden LSP has produced a leaflet about migrant workers' rights and responsibilities. The leaflet aims to raise local residents' awareness of migrant workers' rights and responsibilities and the benefits they are entitled to. See migrant workers' information to read the text from this leaflet or for additional information see migrant workers' useful contacts.
