Further details about each of these Local Development Framework documents and the progress made towards their production are available on the relevant website pages.
The Local Development Framework must be in conformity with National Planning Policy, the North West Plan (Regional Spatial Strategy) once it is adopted and the Cumbria and Lake District Joint Structure Plan prepared by Cumbria County Council.
Details of the Examination in Public (EiP) of the Draft Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) for the North West and the resulting Panel Report can be found on the North West Regional Assembly NWRA website. NWRA is a partnership that works to promote the economic, environmental and social well-being of the North West of England.
Further details about the Cumbria and Lake District Joint Structure Plan can be found at: www.planningcumbria.org/adopted/adoptedsp.asp
In addition, a Minerals and Waste Development Framework (MWDF) is also being prepared by Cumbria County Council (CCC) which will set out policies and proposals for minerals and waste developments up to 2018. This will replace the Minerals and Waste Local Plan. You can find out more about the MWDF and download the document on the Cumbria County Council website.
